Old Mill Pond "Safe Buckets"

Old Mill Pond School - Palmer, MA

This past spring the staff and teachers at Old Mill Pond went through ALICE training which helped them prepare for the event of an intruder or attack on our school. As unpleasant as this is to think about as parents, the training suggested placing a "Safe Bucket" in each classroom. This is a 5 gallon bucket that would be filled with such things as gloves, safety glasses, a hammer(for breaking windows to exit school), rope (to tie off door hinges to prevent entry into a room) and more. School Principal, Jackie Haley and the PTO are working together to try to get these safe buckets in place by the beginning of our school year. We have 54 classrooms with an approximate cost of $20 per bucket which is almost $1100. We are asking for your help today in making safe buckets a reality for the coming school year. Any donations made are greatly appreiciated and will be passed on for the purchase of these materials. If anyone would like to donate but does not feel comfortable doing so through Go Fund Me please email PTO Co-Vice President Karyn Perry at Karyn@omppaws.com for more information. Thank you for your consideration and please share this with other OMP families!
